We are looking for a Senior Drilling Engineer to join us in a staff position. An experienced engineer, able to work un-supervised and develop drilling and intervention programmes. Technically skilled in drilling engineering and able to design, specify, plan and execute wells. Experience of working alone on specific technical problems or in an operations team with a Drilling Engineer, materials coordinator and Superintendant. You will need to be currently based in the UK for this role. The role will include:
Educated to degree level in a technical discipline, you will need considerable experience of Drilling operations including: o Leading the well planning process in line with the well delivery process o Managing well engineering and design activities to deliver well operations safely, on time, within budget, fit for purpose and meeting all objectives. o Preparation of rig-based activity programmes, ensuring lessons learned are used during the planning. o Ensuring all consents are put in place and legislative requirements met in a timely manner. o Plan and schedule the supply of drilling materials and services for each drilling operation. o Continuous monitoring and reporting of drilling and related operations. Briefing immediate supervision on progress, problems, incremental expenditure, and safety issues. o Directs and supports the Drilling Engineer in the design of the well. Checks and confirms validity of engineering calculations and assumptions. o Works closely with the Drilling Superintendent to ensure that the well design and drilling programme will deliver the objectives stated in the well proposal o Supplies well cost estimates for future operations budgets and current operations AFEs, ensuring the reliability of the data provided. o Appraises new drilling technology and products, to determine their potential to improve operational safety and performance. o Reviews and proposes modifications to wells standards and guidelines which will enhance safety and operational performance. o Monitors the daily cost of drilling operations and updates the monthly current expenditures per job and per class of cost o Ensures end of well reports are prepared and the lessons learned are captured a timely manner. o Ensures the well verification procedures are applied and reported We are looking for someone committed to sharing knowledge with others in Senergy and working to assist them in doing the same and to ensure high technical standards are maintained.
