Senior Systems Engineer - HVDC - Wind Energy - UK A Senior Systems Engineer specialising in HVDC connected wind power plants is required for a leading utility company based in the UK. To secure this role you will have had experience building out HVDC connected wind platforms and linking them to the grid either an offshore or onshore capacity. Your primary work will have involved you engineering and developing HVDC Converters allowing you to bestow strong working knowledge of key aspects necessary to design and implement detailed specifications for HVDC Converter stations and their transmission circuits; overhead line, land cable and submarine cable. The successful candidate will have built a reputation within their companies for engineering excellence not only on and team basis but individually as well. This is the chance to work with a newly developed team in which you will deliver the foremost HVDC engineering solutions to wind energy market. The role will also see you develop expertise in HVDC transmission, both the conventional line commutated-converter (LCC) and the voltage source converter(VSC) HVDC understanding how viable these options can be interconnecting to the grid. You will also work on the design and implementation of control and protection for the HVDC connected wind platform. International experience working with HVDC connected wind platforms is beneficial but not required. You will be based in the UK but will have the opportunity to travel.
