Introduction 12 month contracts are immediately available to work for this leading International multi-disciplinary Consultancy working on a major Wastewater framework agreement. A continued workload has created a need for experienced Mechanical Design Engineers with significant water industry experience to produce mechanical designs for pumping stations and water/wastewater treatment works. The Position The Water Team has an expanding workload and is servicing a range of UK Water Company Clients, Government Bodies and Private Clients. In addition to the UK sourced work, there is also the opportunity to service international projects. The key objective of the role of the Mechanical Engineer is provide and support high quality mechanical designs as part of an integrated project team delivering solutions to existing and new framework clients throughout the UK and Europe. RESPONSIBILITIES Preparing and supporting mechanical outline/detailed design solutions in accordance with programme and budget constraints Office based working with occasional visits to construction and operational sites Liaison with internal and external clients to develop relationships across the business Continued Professional Development. CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS A detailed knowledge in the field of mechanical engineering design and installation, specialising in the Water Industry Significant experience of producing mechanical design for pumping stations and water/wastewater treatment works including preparation of detailed design drawings, calculations, specifications, WIMES data sheets, valve schedules and Designer's Risk Assessments Design experience of port fire fighting equipment, CHP plant, mechanical handling equipment and/or moveable flood defence structures would be an advantage BEng (Hons) in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent).
