The Background An exciting opportunity has arisen in a global engineering company that designs, develops and manufactures a diverse range of products for the automotive industry. The Design Draughtsperson will work within an open plan office alongside electronic design engineers and production engineers whilst liaising with other members of the engineering hierarchy. The Role As a Design Draughtsperson, you'll help support the other design engineers on site; you'll design parts and assemblies by producing detailed drawings for the manufacture engineers. You'll design in 2D and 3D CAD, whilst implementing any changes and modifications previous designs require. You'll create BOMs for production parts and will be involved with designs specifically around injection moulded and die-casting parts. You You'll have experience of designing from customer specifications using 2D and 3D CAD - Solidworks would be preferable. You'll have experience of the plastics industry in particular injection moulding and die-casting. You'll have a good understanding of tolerancing including geometric tolerancing. Have the ability to design assembly drawings for medium to high volume manufacture. Understanding of computerised manufacturing systems would be beneficial.
