You'll ideally have a background in Mechanical Engineering or Design. Experience of the full design lifecycle and/or conceptual design would be beneficial. 3D CAD packages such as Solid Works/ Edge. Inventor and/or Pro-Engineer would be advantageous. Exposure to Sheet Metal or Plastics would hold you in good stead.
