An interesting and diverse role has emerged due to continued expansion and growth plans for a research company based in Gloucestershire. The company have merged their mechanical and electrical teams and are looking for a hands-on maintenance team leader to look after a team of eight engineers including mechanical, electrical and facilities maintenance engineers. As a maintenance engineer you will be responsible for a wide variety of equipment, machinery and facilities within a diverse site. The equipment ranges from food processing, laboratories, offices, heating and ventilation, facilities, freezers, mills, lathes and steam etc. Included in the role is the designing layouts and maximising space with labs and food production facilities. Due to the role being varied we are looking for applicants with a wide variety of knowledge and experience, however full training will be given for those areas requiring development. As a maintenance engineer/team leader, you will need to possess the following skills and knowledge; *Multi-skilled - having both mechanical and electrical experience (predominantly mechanical) *Proven ability to work in a multi-functional environment with the skills to maintain a variety of equipment and facilities *Ideally HNC/HND qualified (or equivalent experience) *Team leadership or management experience will be an advantage *Competent in the use of AutoCAD *Reactive and planned maintenance knowledge *The ability to think on your feet and develop your own ideas *Any experience working with steam, food production, mills, lathes, building layout or fabricating would be very advantageous This is an excellent opportunity to utilise your skills but also expand them to a wide range within an extremely diverse and varied environment. The role will also present you the opportunity to progress yourself with the organisation looking for an engineering manager to come from within this team in around 5-6 years.
