1. DESCRIPTION OF FUNCTIONS The Supervisory Engineer (Field Development) is responsible for ensuring that studies are performed to a satisfactory high standard and that specific work tasks are performed safely, effectively and in compliance with their specified objectives. The incumbent shall be conversant in project development procedures, process engineering, facilities engineering, geo-sciences, reservoir engineering, onshore, offshore and subsea systems, cost estimating, risk analysis and with an overview of economic and commercial issues. He/ she shall provide a technical focal point for the Customer and other departments within Wood Group Frontier. 2. RESPONSIBILITIES (i) The Supervisory Engineer (Field Development) shall act as the centre of expertise for all activities relating to the overall field development. This includes: · Perform and manage feasibility and concept selection studies and other studies as appropriate · Understand client requirements To prepare and estimate CTR’s for study proposals and manage studies to meet client expectations · Lead, develop, mentor and appraise junior personnel · Complete quality work within budget and time scales (ii) Assist as part of the business winning team to bring in work to Wood Group Frontier. · Generate business development material for use in marketing and tendering · As part of a team, meet and engage with clients to present and offer services and develop business relationships · Manage the generation and issue of proposals · Seek opportunities for new and further work (iii) Participate in recruitment activities · Identify suitable applicants · Interview and recommend suitable applicants (iv) Application of company processes and procedures · Assist in developing existing or generating new processes and procedures as required · Ensuring compliance with company processes and procedures (v) Any other duties as required and mutually agreed 3. AUTHORITY Responsibility · Generation, checking and issuing project documents, company procedures, proposals and business development material · Approve project documentation Authority · Approve project invoices 4. INTERFACES External · Clients · Subcontractors (as required) Internal · Other WG companies (as required/appropriate) 5. QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE Degree qualified in Chemical or Mechanical, Engineering with 20+ years experience. Should preferably possess some or all of the following: · 20+ years in design of oil and gas production and processing systems · 15+ years experience in development studies · Experience in standard industry cost estimation tools · Extensive experience in developing CAPEX, OPEX and schedule estimates of the field development systems · Ability to understand and work across sub-surface and engineering disciplines · Dynamic character with innovative problem solving abilities · Ability to lead, mentor and develop a team · Strong business development skills · Operator experience · Excellent communication and interpersonal skills · Good organisational skills · Good report writing and presentation skills · Ability to effectively facilitate meetings and workshops | Preferred Experience: | 10 years+ | Position Type: | Permanent | Job Hours: | Full Time | Mandatory Requirement: National Residency or Valid Work Permit required: | Yes | Required for work/interview immediately: | Yes | Post Date: | 01/10/2012 | Expiration Date: | 31/10/2012 |
