Site Mechanical Engineer (Power Plant)

Spinwell Global is looking to recruit a Site Mechanical Engineer for a Coal fired Power Plant located in Sri Lanka.

Your responsibilities will include, but not limited to:

• Monitor and inspect mechanical erection/installation/pre-commissioning activities of the Chinese EPC contractor, in particular related to piping and rotating equipment in all plant areas (boiler, turbine, BOP), with regards to progress, compliance with the contractor and applicable codes/standards, quality, safety and environmental acceptance
• Review and approve contractor's mechanical erection/installation/pre-commissioning work method statements
• Review and approve the proposed mechanical test procedures (NDT,etc.) for materials/equipment/plant to be tested on site by the contractor. Witness such tests, review and approve the related test reports
• Monitor and verify contractors's work progress in the mechanical areas for the purpose of progress payments
• Attend the regular site coordination meetings with the contractor
• Prepare progress reports for the mechanical site works as required by the project/site manager
• Maintain records for the mechanical works of contractual claims and variations by either the contractor or the employer including necessary evidence
• Review the general and mechanical part of the O&M manuals submitted by the contractor
• Review the mechanical as-built documents submitted by the contractor upon taking over
• Transfer of knowledge to the employer's mechanical counterpart engineers

Your Profile will include:

Minimum Bachelors in Mechanical Engineering with 10 years minimum experience of reception/installation hands-on experience in thermal power plant projects in the position as site Mechanical Engineer. Preferred is an all-rounder with strong involvement in piping & rotating equipment.
