Right now, we're going through a period of astonishing growth and are looking for the best to join a small but growing dynamic nuclear team in our Warrington office. The role is multi-faceted and will involve developing strong relationships with our local client, managing the liquidation of technical work through various offices to our high standards, and carrying out the technical work itself.

Requirements 
 
    • Degree qualified, and either a chartered civil or structural engineer or working towards chartership.
    •  A high level of relevant experience as a Principal Civil and Structural Engineer
    • Experience of supervising teams of professional staff
    • Proven capability technically delivering Civil and Structural engineering projects
    • Experience in developing/mentoring junior engineers
    • A good track record in key client management
    • Excellent interpersonal skills, able to build and develop relationships internally and externally
    • Innovative and open to ideas
    • Flexible in approach, willing to travel to work on client sites etc
    • Candidates should have a very strong technical background, including first principles analysis and knowledge and use of relevant UK and international codes and standards, and should have knowledge and experience in at least three of the following technical areas:
    • Considerable experience with engineering finite element analysis software packages and interaction with related organisations;
    • Design and analysis of structures under dynamic loading e.g. seismic, impact, blast;
    • Design and analysis of mechanical systems;
    • Design of concrete, steel and masonry structures using British, European and US codes and standards;
    • Experience of presenting highly technical studies to technical and non technical audiences.

 

 Additional Information
 
  • Nuclear industry experience is an advantage, however we are principally looking for first class engineers who have the capacity to develop their skills and have the ability to adapt to a vibrant industry.
  • By joining the vibrant Energy Business in Warrington, you will have the opportunity to work across the whole nuclear market from Decommissioning to Generation to Nuclear New Build. 
  • Travel to other company and client sites may be necessary.
  • This is an exciting time for Atkins, we are diversifying our portfolio to become a more global organisation, while also continuing to grow our Energy sector in the UK. There will be opportunities for international travel and applicants with a desire for non-UK based assignments will be welcomed.
Successful candidates will be required to undergo a security vetting process and offers of employment will be subject to relevant security clearance being granted.
 
Although our positions are full-time, there may be flexibility in working hours for the right candidates.
