My clients a Global Oil and Gas Operator are urgently looking for an experienced Planning Engineer to join them to support a multi billion pound project. The position is being offered on an initial 12 month contract basis with the option of further extension beyond this and is going to be based inStavanger,Norway. As the Planning Engineer you will be responsible to: -Consolidate, control and coordinate all planning and progress measurement activities related assigned work packages. -Ensure that activities are correctly planned and performed throughout the whole project duration in accordance with the initial plan, considering scheduling and planning activities as a predictive tool for the Project. Key duties of the role shall include but will not be limited to: -Define and update the Work Package work breakdown structure. -Elaborate, update and revise the Work Package schedule as required by Project Control Planning Lead and Work Package Manager. -Elaborate and revise the work package planning & progress measurement procedures and documents in close co-operation with the Project Control Planning Lead and Work Package Manager. -Follow closely the activities of the contractor planning engineer(s). -Monitor closely the contractor's execution schedule and progress reports. -Check and comment on the contractor's procedures, schedules and methodology. -Provide detailed and accurate monthly progress reporting to be incorporated into the monthly project report. -Provide assistance to the Work Package Manager and Project Control Planning Leader for all matters related to planning & progress reporting and to provide analyses and simulations of new schedules. -Participate in reviews and technical audits on planning & progress activities, in particular to provide input for PSRA. Experience / Qualifications Required: -Experience in oil and gas engineering and construction gained through minimum 5-10 years of construction projects -Sound knowledge of planning techniques including scheduling software (Primavera, MS Project..) and management software (Excel, Word, PowerPoint..) -Primavera P6 knowledge beneficial. -Good written and oral communication and interpersonal skills are required along with a good common sense and approach -Strong prioritisation, time management and organisational skills. -Fluency in English My clients are going to be reviewing CV's for this position on Thursday and Friday of this week with a view to holding initial telephone interviews on Monday and Tuesday.
