My Client, based in Gloucestershire is currently looking to recruit a Senior Electronics Engineer to join their expanding team. The role involves working with minimal supervision, taking the lead on electronic hardware design for new projects and implementing the electronic aspects of engineering change orders. Working with RF and robotics products and often needed to help develop new methods, the role will suit innovative candidates that have good mathematical and analytical skills. An appreciation of software and a comprehensive understanding of RF is also desirable. Duties Designing and supporting circuits using: *Phillips/NXP ARM7 processors LPC2138, LPC2468 *Xilinx Microblaze soft core processors *PIC Processors High level system and circuit design for: *RF Communications *RF Inhibition *Remotely Operated Vehicle Systems (ROV) Producing documentation: *Requirement, functional, design and test specifications. Testing *Hardware *Systems *Proof of concept *Working with PLM and ERP systems as required to ensure Manufacturing have access to complete, current and correct data. *Interface with manufacturing engineering to ensure product transitions smoothly to production. *Managing the electronics aspects of new projects, including advising other disciplines and supporting junior engineers *Manage compliance testing + approval to commercial, military and defence standards. *Troubleshoot and improve existing products Knowledge and Qualifications *Degree in Math's, Science or an Engineering subject *Minimum 5 years' experience in a similar role Desirable Skills *FPGA design techniques *Digital signal processing design techniques *High Speed ADC/DAC Design *Understanding of radio communications eg Spread-spectrum/GSM/CDMA/WiFi *Ethernet/USB/Wireless embedded implementations *PCB layout using Altium Designer *VHDL *C programing language *Design of safety critical systems *Support safety case for military customers *Configuration management For more information please contact Rob Hussey at Omega resource group 01453 829792.
