A world leading specialist in automated heavy equipment is looking for three Commissioing Engineers, ideally with Siemens S7 experience (but this can be trained if proficient with other control systems packages). You'll work on automated equipment such as Stackers, Winches, Hoists and Cranes and other heavy automated lifting equipment. They have a prestigious project which you'll be involved with for the next two years and it would be a real addition to your CV. The Control Systems Engineers will be providing training for the first two-four weeks before you actively start commissioning. . After which time, you'll be ready to commission their equipment. In order to fulfil the duties of the commissioning engineer you'll: * Have knowledge of Siemens S7 or other PLC control systems (FB,STL and Ladder) * Drive Knowledge (ABB or/and Siemens Inverter preferably) * Able to follow test instructions and execute functional tests of the equipment * Have the ability to read electrical and mechanical drawings * Be able to liaise with people at various levels of the engineering hierarchy * Understand Profibus / Ethernet There are three roles for Commissioing Engineers adn also roles available for Automation Engineers (spec is very similar). The start date proposed would be late August or early September to suit. The equipment has already been designed so you don't need to be able to programme from scratch but if you can it will prove an advantage to the project. The location is South East, near Essex. Initially this will be a two year fixed term contract with likely extension to permanent if interested. We can offer this role the Commissioing Engineer role on a permanent salary which is the preferred option but the client will consider an hourly rate.
