This is a fantastic opportunity to join the operations team of a waste management company on their ELP (End of Life Plastic) Plant in Avonmouth, Bristol. This plant, the first of its kind in the UK will convert waste plastics back to diesel fuels.
In the role of Shift Manager you will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the facility, working closely with the team of shift personnel, to achieve the objectives set by the Plant Manager.

The Key responsibilities of this role will include:

Managing, organising, developing and training a team of up to 3 operatives
Maintaining operational, compliance and safety standards
Maintaining efficient working practices and work to operational procedures
Checking and developing process performance to maximise plant profitability
Assisting with the initial set-up, commissioning and optimisation of the plant
Review, update and develop operational procedures as required.
Maintain the operational function of the plant by inspection and prompt fault diagnosis.
Manage human resources and promote positive employee relations.
Liaison with the site management team to ensure effective relationships are developed and maintained
Promoting a safety conscious attitude through safe systems of work and accurate and timely reporting of incidents
Control and issue of work permits

You will ideally have previous experience of managing a team within a manufacturing/process environment. You will have an HNC (or equivalent) or be time served in plant operations, mechanical, electrical or process engineering. A relevant H&S qualification (e.g. NEBOSH /IOSH) would be advantageous, but is not essential.
