Procurement Superintendent- Iron Ore- Liberia- West Africa- $140k-$200k base + Bonus + Executive Benefits My client is the world's largest producer of steel and among the five largest producers of iron ore and metallurgical coal, or coking coal. Their mining business is an increasingly essential part of our growth strategy. Capital expenditure on mining doubled in 2011 to almost US$1.3 billion, and my client has embarked on a major development programme aimed at expanding existing mines and developing new ones. Their operation in Liberia is now looking for a senior procurement superintendent to take responsibility for every aspect of their purchasing strategy. This position is responsible for purchase of Capital Goods & Services for a Green field Iron Ore Mining project as per the sourcing plan/procurement schedule and able to plan and manage supply chain activity including issuing the RFQ's/Negotiations/Preparing P.O's in SAP/monitoring the payments/managing the warehouse activities. 5 years + experience in senior a procurement role within mining or heavy industry 3 years + experience of living and working in Africa Ability to work autonomously and at the same time to contribute strongly as a team player working together with various stake holders in the project team. Analytical ability and comfortable in a highly computerised environment, preferably in SAP Good knowledge of Procurement activities with proven track record and aggressively pursue and create competitive purchase environment through constantly seeking alternative supply scenarios.
