The Company



A leading engineering company with a multi billion pound turnover who's business is split into two sides.

One part of the business is a specialist MRO (Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul) department, supplying this service to customers nationwide. The other part of the business is in the supply of over 10 million products including bearings, belts, chains, sprockets, gearboxes, motors, hydraulics, pneumatics, clutches, couplings and many more into many sectors including Chemical, Transport, Automotive, Metals along with several other sectors.





The successful fitter will possess the following skills and experience:



Time-served mechanical fitter/Maintenance Engineer
Background with rotating equipment. This could include motors, generators, gearboxes, turbines, pumps, engines, etc.
Hardworking and methodical.



The role will involve:



90% workshop based carryout Mechanical Fitting/Maintenance
10% on the road travelling to sites
Use of verniers and micrometers to measure parts and recording all data
Working under guidance of the site engineers.
Some work will be done from drawings, but in general you will be told what to do.
Mechanical assembly and rebuild of heavy rotating equipment of up to 20 tonnes. This will involve assembly of motors, gearboxes, putting bearings together, etc.
Some electrical which will involve putting connections together.
