We are looking for an Electrical Excitation Engineer.

The Electrical Excitation Field Engineer will provide on-site technical direction. Further OEM training provides the technical skills for the Electrical Excitation Engineer to operate confidently and independently. Training is conducted at the GE Power Systems University Training and Development Center in Schenectady, NY.

Job assignments can be either local or international, providing turbine related services (installation, maintenance or retrofit) to utility, industrial, transportation, government and commercial customers. The job will involve extensive travel, long hours and shift work.

Skills

Minimum Skills/Knowledge:
Electrical Excitation of combustion turbine, steam turbine, controls, electrical or generator experience. Strong interpersonal skills, technical competence, leadership ability, computer skills and willingness to travel are necessary to become a capable field engineer.

Accountability:

Control of costs mistakes could be detrimental to job cost
Quality control; preservation, protection, security, or safekeeping of turbine modules, office trailers, tool trailers/gang boxes, cranes, and accessories, spare parts.


Responsibilities:

Pre-outage and installation planning; possibly recommending and administering policies and procedures


Education/Experience:

Minimum 2 years of experience in power plant maintenance, turbine generator maintenance, or power plant equipment installation/ commissioning.
