Senior Geologist, London New Ventures - West Africa 'To be a main provider of geological analysis and advice for the International New Ventures function of The Company. A minimum of 10years of experience in a similar role working on Africa and Europe prospect generation' Exploration · Analysis of all geologically related data to support the Africa New Ventures Team · Provide geological analysis and evaluation of open acreage, farm-in and acquisition opportunities in a variety of African basins using both public domain and disclosed data. · Support and participate in negotiations on securing new venture opportunities with host governments, farminors, potential partners etc. This may include forming bidding groups, agreeing work programmes and bidding strategies and commitments · Organise, liaise with, and direct geological consultants on company projects. · Undertake new ventures geoscience analysis including basin analysis, prospect assessment and generation, portfolio ranking etc for a variety of African basins · Plan and monitor G&G operations on operated and non-operated exploration work programmes. · Represent the company in host government meetings, partner meetings and meetings with external third parties e.g. investment banks at data rooms, at conferences and workshops Subsurface advice and evaluation Provide technical advice and recommendations to the Manager, New Ventures Africa and the New Ventures Group Business Manager - Europe and Africa as required Be an active member of the London and Tokyo New Ventures team Work pro-actively with colleagues in the Exploration Group in London to develop integrated approaches to geological and geophysical analysis and to make a significant contribution to sustaining a sub-surface excellence centre in London Process improvement Identify, promote and execute improvements in processes and systems in the New Ventures Group that enhance profitability and improve risk management Quality Assurance: make full use, and participate in the development of, the electronic project specification system for assisting in the delivery of consistent high quality technical, commercial and legal work.
