OPERATIONS MANAGER Somalia Our Client is a world-class supplier of Remote Site logistics operating throughout the Middle East and Africa. The business delivers a wide range of Fuel Supply, Supply Chain Management, Aviation Services, Ground Logistics and Life Support Services. Due to expansion on their Somalia contract they are seeking to hire an Operations Manager to be responsible for the day to day running of all operational matters in Somalia. The incumbent will be an experienced hands on manager used to working in extreme environments and with a diverse team. The Operations Manager must be able to stand in for the Country/Station Manager when he is out of country or on leave. Qualifications Ramp Management/ Ground handling experience. Ideally possesses knowledge of Aircraft Operations. Knowledge of security Knowledge of camp management, supply chain and life support Knowledge of basic ICT systems to support the operation Basic financial management and awareness Understanding of NGO, UN and Military operations Business development or sales experience Understanding of fuel storage, supply and distribution English speaker Good verbal and written communications IT literate (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint) Confident and self-aware Client friendly and presentable Relationship builder Ability to prioritise, organise, meet deadlines and have attention to detail Strong leadership and man management experience Strong communication skills Highly motivated individual Worked in a hostile environment such as Iraq, Afghanistan, Somalia, or other challenging African countries. Work closely with all department heads: Air Operations, Fuels, Camp and Logistics Management, inter alia Hold regular internal management meetings to ensure effective communications across the business operation Must be able to deploy for long periods of time and have a flexible approach Former Military Warrant Officer or SNCO with Operational experience Ability to work with and manage local national employees Good understanding of the need to develop business Confident presenter and briefer to clients, visitors and senior management Willing to travel and operate throughout the country and region Interface with local officials, UN, NGO and others on a regular basis Must have cultural empathy and willingness to engage local personnel Knowledge of aviation or logistics operations Understand Fuelling operation and capabilities Omega Resource Group Plc is acting as an Employment Agency in relation to this vacancy. | Preferred Experience: | 2-5 years | Position Type: | Permanent | Job Hours: | Full Time | Mandatory Requirement: National Residency or Valid Work Permit required: | No | Required for work/interview immediately: | No | Post Date: | 22/06/2012 | Expiration Date: | 22/07/2012 |
