Electrical Fitters (HV)

HIGH VOLTAGE ELECTRICAL FITTER

LOCATION: Home Based (UK Travel - North East & West, Midlands, Wales, Scotland)

RATE: Negotiable + Overtime

THE COMPANY:

• My client is a specialised engineering consultancy that provided technical resources to the power industry andis widely recognised as one of the leading HV engineering businesses in the UK.

THE ROLE

• On behalf of the client we are looking to recruit permanent, full time Electrical Fitters working with HV equipment (400kV) associated with substations

EXPERIENCE

• Experience of working on medium / high voltage substations
• Extensive experience of working on high voltage plant, switchgear, transformers and associated auxiliary equipment
• Excellent knowledge of working practises, techniques, procedures and tool use
• Training in Health and Safety and Environmental Issues
• The ability to read and work to engineering drawings
• A Flexibility to work across the UK
• The self motivation and the ability to work under your own initiative

EDUCATIONAL & QUALIFICATIONS

Essential:

• A recognised craft / technician apprenticeship
• A good standard of secondary education
• ONC / BTEC in mechanical/electrical engineering or equivalent qualifications

Desirable:

• National Grid Competent Person, BESC, Safety Passport, MEWP
• Telehandler, Scaffolding, Welding / Brazing
• Working at Height, First Aid
