Production Planner Salary :£20,000 to£24,000 Chepstow Our client specialises in the fabrication, erection and protective treatment of high quality steelwork for landmark bridges, highway bridges, railway bridges, footbridges, sign gantries, monopiles, wind turbine towers and other heavy structures. They are looking for a production planner to control the weekly demand planning cycle including the issue of an achievable finite capacity plans and administration of works orders. You will also maintain the data integrity of the ERP system ensuring that all dates and quantities connected to works orders, purchase orders, and stock levels are accurate. You must also work in partnership with the Lean Manufacturing Manager to monitor and report on factory performance using KPI's. Key Areas: *To review, evaluate, monitor, and publish production schedules, based on labour, material, and machine constraints, that meet contract delivery dates and maintain production performance *To schedule production to ensure efficient material flow and utilization of labour on work centres *To maintain the data integrity of the ERP system in support of business goals and objectives e.g. works orders, purchase orders, and stock levels *To administer all production data contained within various business systems and provide factory performance measures that support lean principles *To establish robust inventory processes and controls to match materials against production needs *To review, evaluate, and monitor stock levels and ensure that agreed stock targets are not exceeded *To provide cover for other roles including the Operations Manager and Master Production Scheduler *To participate in stock checks and other asset control measures *To participate in quality audits *To participate in continuous improvement initiatives related to Lean Manufacturing Key Competencies *Technical skills including computer literacy in appropriate standard packages, databases, and programming languages *Knowledge of ERP systems *Knowledge of production scheduling includingMRP and MRPII *Data analysis skills *Business awareness skills *Lean Manufacturing knowledge *Project management skills *Good working knowledge of production processes *Personal skills including good communication and problem solving For more information please call Giles Churchill at Omega Resource Group on 01453 829794 Omega Resource Group Plc is acting as an Employment Agency in relation to this vacancy. | Preferred Experience: | 0-2 years | Position Type: | Permanent | Job Hours: | Full Time | Mandatory Requirement: National Residency or Valid Work Permit required: | Yes | Required for work/interview immediately: | No | Post Date: | 13/07/2012 | Expiration Date: | 12/08/2012 |
