Role: Electrical Engineer Location: Glenrothes, Fife, Scotland Type: Contract Duration: 12-15 Months Rate: Negotiable Job Purpose: My Client requires an Electrical Engineer to coordinate design, construction and commissioning of a Biomass project. Role and Responsibilities: - Liaise between the Main equipment suppliers designers and facilitate discussion and compromise where necessary, using engineering judgement and knowledge of the specification requirements to provide consistent design approaches between contractual boundaries procedures. - To review each supplier and subcontractor designs at the detailed level to ensure that interfaces are engineered correctly and consistently procedures. - To ensure compliance with the specification and to liaise with stakeholders where new technology design innovation has resulted in the necessity to develop new operational procedures. - Manage the Employer's internal review processes to ensure that all inspections tests and checks have been completed, documented and filed in compliance with the approved commissioning process. - Oversee on behalf of the Client, the integration of the various commissioning packages to ensure that they provide a comprehensive electrical commissioning programme and ensure full commissioning of electrical generator power management system. - To coordinate installation and commissioning activities across contract boundaries and with the host site. - Assist the Asset Owner in the coordinate the operational training of the personnel employed by the Employer's Contractor during the plant commissioning phase. Knowledge, Skills and Requirements: - The candidate must have a thorough knowledge of the Engineering Construction Industry. - A full understanding of the requirements of H&S legislation as it affects the boiler erection process is required. - A thorough knowledge of safety legislation covering all aspects of electrical Control & Instrumentation systems is required. - Excellent communication and team building skills are required. - A background in power system electrical engineering design and understanding of the function of electrical equipment properties and power system principals e.g. per unit representations symmetrical components and typical circuit representations. - An understanding of primary electrical systems controls from real and reactive power flows, voltage regulation and fault levels. - Experience and understanding of electrical equipment installation methods and practices. | Preferred Experience: | 2-5 years | Position Type: | Contract | Job Hours: | Full Time | Mandatory Requirement: National Residency or Valid Work Permit required: | Yes | Required for work/interview immediately: | No | Post Date: | 13/07/2012 | Expiration Date: | 12/08/2012 |
