Position: Energy & Sustainability Consultant Salary: £24,000 - £26,000 Location: West Yorkshire My client is a multi-disciplinary construction services company operating throughout the UK and Ireland. Collectively, the group adopts a co-ordinated approach to building sustainability and compliance, identifying and implementing the optimal planned or remedial measures for meeting energy performance targets and compliance requirements across the residential, commercial and public sectors. Due to my clients growth in the market place they are currently seeking an additional Energy & Sustainability Consultant in the West Yorkshire area. The main purpose of the role: To undertake Energy Assessment for compliance with Part L2 Building Regulations compliance, renewable energy feasibility assessment (including planning statements), energy/sustainability consultancy for existing buildings, use of IES <Virtual Environment> modelling software. For this role you will need the following key skills: Responsible for undertaking assessment and providing consultative advice to Clients, design team members, contractors and sub-contractors in relation to Part L2 Building Regulations Compliance, planning assistance and feasibility assessments, overheating/internal comfort assessment and other related thermal modelling worksProvision of written reports detailing works undertaken and outlining any required advice to meet objectives and targetsWorking within a team environment to deliver project works within strict deadlines to a high level of technical competencyLiaise with other business areas for delivery of specialist advice to support wider business ventures and opportunities The person we are looking for will have the following: Accuracy and attention to detailAbility to train, supervise and check work of co-workersAbility to improve own level of knowledge and learning alongside undertaking main working dutiesAbility to balance thoroughness with commercial demandsClear and confident communication skills, verbal and writtenHighly developed and creative approach to problem solvingGood interpersonal skillsSelf-motivated and pro-activeAutonomous but also team playerShows initiative, drive and enthusiasmPragmatic with flexible approach To be considered for this role you will have: Qualification in provision of Energy Performance Certificates for Non-Domestic Buildings to Level 4 standard (Level 5 desirable).Experience and expertise in the use of IES <virtual environment> software for building energy assessment and compliance, including ‘Apache’ thermal modellingRelevant academic qualifications in energy, sustainability or engineering fieldExcellent diagnostic and report writing skillsExcellent IT skills, including working knowledge of spread sheets, databases and Microsoft Office & AutoCAD (Sketch-up also desirable)Expert working knowledge and experience of relevant legislation including ADL2A (2006 & 2010) and other standard industry guidance documentsAbility to undertake additional relevant learning alongside current duties to ensure broad knowledge of new technologies, legislation and opportunitiesExperience of design team meetings and ability to present verbally to clients, team members, and internal staff Desirable: Membership of relevant professional Institute, such as CIBSE or Energy InstituteExperience or competency in the use of Revit software platformsQualification in Air Conditioning Inspections to Level 4 or working knowledge of TM44:2012 methodology and EPBD regulationsExperience in delivery of mechanical or electrical building services consultancy/designExperience in the production of TM44 Air Conditioning Inspections for all types of central and packaged systems.Experience in the delivery of Energy Performance Certificates (EPCs) for non-domestic buildings across a range of sectors and building types. As part of this role you will be working a 45 hour week, Monday to Friday 08:30 – 17:30 with half an hour lunch break per day, benefits include 3% contribution to your pension plan and 21 days holiday per year.
