APPLICATIONS ENGINEER-DRIVES: £30-45k + BENEFITS

THE ROLE

Reporting to the Section Leader you will specify, design and implement drive solutions for Offshore, Naval and Mining industries. Key duties include;

• At the Tender Stage-Review customer requirement specification.Specify drive and motor type with necessary input for the transformer. Conduct basic supply system study.
• On Contract Award-confirm equipment ratings-detail specifications for the drive, motor, transformer and any other items. Complete full system study if required.
• Provide input to interconnection drawing/cable schedules & layout drawings.
• Produce System functional specification
• Modify standard drive software
• Undertake Equipment FATs
• Provide commissioning support where required.

THE PERSON

The successful Drive Application Engineer will have;

• Degree in Electrical/Control Engineering ideally coupled with previous experience in a similar role.
• Knowledge of drive products and power systems
• Good understanding of control loop systems and control theory
• Knowledge of Human Machine Interface,PLCarchitecture, networks, communication protocols
